Biography
Dr Susan Rook is a senior lecturer in literacy at RMIT Prior to this, she was a senior lecturer in literacy education at Leeds Beckett University in the UK and was a primary school teacher for 17 years. Susan’s research focuses on the incorporation of creative and playful pedagogies within the classroom to enhance student engagement, in addition to promoting agentic learning within the teaching of literacy in schools. She is particularly interested in using picture books in conjunction with the creative arts to promote agentic reader response to text.
