Rich Experiences, Extraordinary Outcomes: Transforming Writing in the Primary Classroom
Biography
Ondine Bradbury is a literacy researcher and teacher educator. Her work spans writing pedagogy, teacher professional learning, rural education, and community-engaged curriculum design. Her research examines how genre, grammar, and multimodal composition can be integrated with place-based and community-connected approaches to literacy. She is particularly interested in how teachers build deep knowledge of language and translate this into cohesive writing programs.
Ondine works alongside schools to design literacy units that are rigorous, purposeful, and responsive to context. Her research explores rural placements and community-based literacy initiatives. She has contributed to projects that support the publication of student-authored texts, connecting classroom writing to authentic audiences. Across these contexts, she advocates for literacy teaching that is theoretically robust and contextually responsive. She is committed to ensuring that all students have access to writing experiences that empowers student voice and engagement.
