Biography

Professor Jodie Conduit is the Pro Vice Chancellor of Business and Law at Adelaide University, where she leads research into how companies can harness collective customer engagement to create transformation at both organisational and customer levels for meaningful social impact. Her expertise spans examining how consumer communities shape markets and drive behavioural transformation, with particular focus on consumer mindsets, circular economy practices, and resource waste reduction. As a Board member of both Green Industries SA and KESAB Environmental Solutions, Professor Conduit brings practical experience in guiding strategic sustainability initiatives alongside her academic research, which has included major projects addressing food waste reduction in aged care and hospital settings. Her research, published in leading international journals, demonstrates how engagement theory can be applied to create lasting institutional and behavioural change in environmental contexts. A Fellow of the Australia and New Zealand Marketing Academy (ANZMAC), Professor Conduit is committed to leveraging marketing principles and engagement strategies to build sustainable futures, working with organisations to develop authentic stakeholder relationships that embed new practices supporting both business objectives and environmental stewardship.

Janelle has 20 years in the waste sector, most recently joining Good Sammy after seeing the opportunity to progress action further up the waste hierarchy to encourage more reuse and resource recovery. Janelle has worked in local government, state government, not for profit and consulting.

Biography

Ceri Price is Senior Manager Community Engagement, Circular Economy at the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation. He is responsible for the WasteSorted program, the statewide GREAT Sorts waste sorting behaviour change campaign, and Keep Australia Beautiful WA. He has a marketing, communications and education management background.

Moving WA up to the Hierarchy

Biography

Hayley is a Technical Director - Circular Economy in GHD’s WA Sustainability Advisory team. She is an experienced environmental science and sustainability specialist with a passion for circular economy and sustainable waste management. Hayley works with clients to provide advice and develop circular economy approaches that include the assessment of business processes, management and recovery of commercial wastes, impact assessments and opportunities for the beneficial use of waste-derived materials. She has broad experience across a range of natural resource management, community engagement, environmental policy, and sustainable waste management subject matter, including single-use plastics, environmental regulation, and compliance and waste derived materials. Hayley is passionate about environmental protection, waste avoidance and (if she’s not at her desk) can usually be found either hiking the Bibbulmun track or picking up waste on a beach somewhere.
