Biography

Over the past 35 years Marcus has held senior positions across all waste sectors in Australia and overseas. His experience in waste collection and processing includes C&D processing, composting organics, alternative waste treatment processes and marketing of secondary materials. Marcus became a Waste Authority member in 2008 and appointed Chairman 2014-2019. Marcus led the 2018 State Waste Strategy review, developed the WARR Strategy and Action Plan 2030 and through inclusive engagement, successfully bringing together State and local governments and industry to implement. Marcus left the Authority to assume the role of EMRC’s CEO in July 2019 to put policy into action. Marcus’s vision is to expand the EMRC’s Circular Economy Hub network, transfer stations and community recycling centres to be exemplars of the WARR sector and has positioned the EMRC to be the leader in these fields with a focus on Net ZERO, creating meaningful jobs and maturing the sector.

Biography

Amanda began her career as a corporate lawyer, before undertaking a Master of Science, Sustainability Management from Curtin University. Over the last 13 years, she has worked in a variety of sectors including natural capital and sustainable finance, sustainable transportation and the mining and resource, both in Australia and Scotland.

Biography

Daniel has been with Veolia for 18 years in a range of operational and senior management roles. This has included project management for a number of post-collection facilities in Victoria and the management of Biowise (Veolia’s previous organics processing facility in JV with the WA Water Corporation). Daniel’s main responsibility is the management of our post-collection waste infrastructure in Perth and surrounds, ensuring the quality and safe management of waste processing and disposal at these facilities. Daniel has been instrumental in upgrading our facilities, enhancing recovery rates, improving safety standards across our sites and accelerating the circular economy with our North Bannister Organics Resource Recovery Facility.
