Rebecca has 18 years’ experience in the waste management industry working across private industry and local government. Rebecca has worked for Veolia for 8 years and manages the overall performance and delivery of Veolia’s local government contracts in WA.

Biography

Paul has dedicated 26 years to resource recovery, beginning his career as an operator and progressing through various roles in Local Government. As the Manager of Resource Recovery & Fleet Services for the City of Melville, he has a strong passion for environmental sustainability which drives his commitment to seek and implement innovative strategies that give rise to best practice outcomes. With an optimistic attitude and strong ability to build positive and professional relationships, he led a successful 2017 FOGO trial that helped pave the way for Perth’s first metropolitan FOGO rollout in 2019. Beyond his professional endeavours, Paul enjoys socialising, time with the family and is always up for a good chat. His life goal is to leave a positive environmental legacy for his children and the community.

Janelle has 20 years in the waste sector, most recently joining Good Sammy after seeing the opportunity to progress action further up the waste hierarchy to encourage more reuse and resource recovery. Janelle has worked in local government, state government, not for profit and consulting.

Biography

Jason Pugh’s career spanning 27 years has been spent taking innovative companies through to commercial success stories. The past 10 years of his career has been spent developing the waste to energy sector in Australia and he’s currently Chief Executive Officer of the $511m East Rockingham Waste to Energy project. Jason led the development of the East Rockingham Waste to Energy project, achieving Australia’s first EPA approval for a large-scale waste to energy project in 2013. He was also responsible for planning approval, site selection, community consultation, local government tendering, grid connection and key stakeholder management. Jason is the current President of the WA branch of the Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association (WMRR) of Australia, the waste industries peak industry body.

Adrian Wiley

Biography

Adrian Wiley is the Executive Director, Circular Economy at the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) in Western Australia. Adrian has been leading the Circular Economy team since late 2022, delivering policy advice to government and supporting the Waste Authority to implement the WA Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Strategy 2030. Adrian also oversees the delivery of significant programs and initiatives, including WA’s Plan for Plastics and Container Deposit Scheme. Previously Adrian has led teams responsible for environmental regulation, regulatory reform, and policy development and implementation. He brings a strong foundation and knowledge in regulation, policy development and government decision making, having served as a policy advisor to four separate Ministers across both Liberal-National and Labor state governments. Adrian holds tertiary qualifications in Environmental Biology and Politics.
