Biography

Tim Cusack, CEO, WA Return Recycle Renew Limited (WARRRL) Scheme Coordinator, Containers for Change WA Tim is an experienced supply chain and leadership professional with 30 years’ experience in manufacturing, logistics and general management. He has worked with some of Australia’s leading companies including George Weston Foods, Fonterra Australia, Lion Nathan, Lionco, Arnotts and Detmold Packaging. He has also worked closely with the dairy and potato growing sectors in Western Australia. Earlier in his career Tim was a Ministerial Chief of Staff in the Unsworth Government in NSW. Tim’s broad experience including delivering major change and development programs has assisted WARRRL in establishing and operating a world class container deposit scheme for Western Australia. In three short years Western Australia’s container deposit scheme has collected over 3 billion containers and donated $11.5 million to the WA community.

Biography

John is a sustainability practitioner across diverse industries with a focus on product stewardship, good design and communications. His policy, stewardship and design projects cover appliances, automotive, consumer electronics, office furniture, floor coverings, textiles and plastic products used in healthcare. He is a member of the Ministerial Advisory Group on the Circular Economy established by the Australian Government, and an adjunct professor with the Institute for Sustainable Futures at UTS. John is also a Good Design Ambassador with Good Design Australia, and a member of the Australian Repair Network steering committee. John has a particular focus on good design and the need for structural reform to deal with over-production and over-consumption.

Laurie is currently managing Director Sustainable Impact at Woolworths Group. The sustainable impact team is responsible for delivering group sustainability outcomes across Australia and New Zealand that help drive a better tomorrow for the group. Prior to joining the Woolworths Group, Laurie spent over 15 years in the environmental services field with Veolia (covering water, waste management and energy) including senior leadership roles in Operations, Corporate Development and Innovation.

Adrian Wiley

Biography

Adrian Wiley is the Executive Director, Circular Economy at the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) in Western Australia. Adrian has been leading the Circular Economy team since late 2022, delivering policy advice to government and supporting the Waste Authority to implement the WA Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Strategy 2030. Adrian also oversees the delivery of significant programs and initiatives, including WA’s Plan for Plastics and Container Deposit Scheme. Previously Adrian has led teams responsible for environmental regulation, regulatory reform, and policy development and implementation. He brings a strong foundation and knowledge in regulation, policy development and government decision making, having served as a policy advisor to four separate Ministers across both Liberal-National and Labor state governments. Adrian holds tertiary qualifications in Environmental Biology and Politics.
