WasteSorted Awards Nominations

The WasteSorted Awards acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding achievements of Western Australians working towards a better waste future through improved waste practices and innovative waste solutions.

The awards program is an initiative of the State Government of Western Australia and is coordinated by the Waste Authority WA.

Important Information
Please read through the important information on the following pages and follow the prompts to submit your nomination. A summary of the Nomination Kit detailing the categories and process can also be found here. (link to PDF).

Applicants who wish to submit a nomination in multiple categories will need to complete a new nomination form for each category. Should you have any queries, please contact wastesortedawards@eventandconferenceco.com.au

Nominations will close 5pm (WST) on Monday 26 May 2025.

The Process

  1. Shortlisting: Once nominations have closed, DWER judges will assess the entries against the assessment criteria and prepare a shortlist for each awards category.
  2. Screening: Shortlisted entries will be screened by DWER Compliance and Enforcement and outstanding compliance issues may result in the withdrawal of the nomination from the category.
  3. Scheduling: The primary contact person for each of the shortlisted nominees will be contacted to arrange an interview with the judging panel and external judging panel. Interviews will take place between 14-15 July 2025 via video meeting. A representative from the shortlisted nominees must be available for an interview during this period.
  4. Interviews: The judges and shortlisted nominees meet to allow the judges to ask questions and gain a greater insight, and so entrants can share more information about themselves and their work.
  5. Assessment: Following the interviews, the judges will select winners and commendations of the 2025 WasteSorted Awards.
  6. Announcement: The winners will be announced at the WasteSorted Awards Gala Dinner on Thursday 11 September 2025.
